When CBS Television Distribution asked Fresh Pictures to create a national campaign for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, it went on a wild ride with the BULLDOG and visual effects house, Engine Room.

Because of the positive responses to our resent newsletters and articles on High Definition and Encoding, I’ve been asked to write something about editing.

Remember the days, when you brought in your film to the colourist and he put up the reel, transferred the film to Digital Beta and then you cut your project?

Ever since we started implementing High Definition (HD) video into our company’s post-production workflow, there seems to be continuous misunderstandings among our friends and coworkers about HD and its many forms.

Fresh Pictures, Inc. has partnered up with A-List photographer Michael Spain-Smith, to offer clients print production services including a new streamlined way of shooting both stills and video.

Two years ago Fresh Pictures was first introduced to HD digital SLR technology by award-winning cinematographer, Shane Hurlbut, ASC. He handed us the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and said, “It’s a Game changer.” This 2.5-pound camera is revolutionizing the way films and television are shot and Fresh Pictures is pioneering the way.

Rob recently sat down with keyboardist and composer, Steve Porcaro. Porcaro was an original member of the rock band Toto and went on to score films such as “Montana Sky”. He also composes the music for the FX television show “Justified”.

Rob recently sat down with Shane Hurlbut, ASC for a candid interview. Hurlbut is an award-winning cinematographer in feature films (“Into The Blue” “The Greatest Game Ever Played” “Mr. 3000,” “Drumline” “crazy/beautiful” television (“The Rat Pack”) and commercials (Disneyland, Coca Cola, American Express.) He’s also recognized for principal photography in music videos for such artists as Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Donna Summer and Smashing Pumpkins.
